Construction project objectives are stated in terms of project completion time, budgeted cost and stipulated quality specification.
Every construction project is time bound and has a predetermined duration with definable beginning and identifiable end.
Start time is the time when client decides to undertake construction and commit his financial resources. There are many
factors that determine the outcome of a project. For progressive implementation certain parameters has to be identified i.e.,
1. Identification of activities to be executed in a project.
2. Formulation of standard specifications for accomplishing quality of individual tasks.
3. Identification of speed with which project is to be executed since completion time depends over this
factor.
4. Identification of complexity arising due to variety of tasks to be executed.
5. Scrutinize the contract document.
6. Scrutinize the contractor's mobilization plan, plan of work, construction procedures and quality control
measures.
7. Scrutinize the work programs.
8. Scrutinize the field work regularly to ensure proper layouts, work conformity as per drawing and specifications.
9. Scrutinize the safety measures for prevention of accidents.
10. Hold review meetings to monitor the progress, resolve problems and plan future works.
11. Scrutinize payment of RA bills of contractors to ensure correctness.
12. Report immediately to the Project Head all cases amounting to breach of contract.
13. A proper record of operating instructions and as built drawings is maintained.
